13 things you should never do with your Thermomix: Essential Tips

The Thermomix, that ally in the kitchen that makes our lives easier on more than one occasion, but did you know that there are certain things you should never do with it? Here we bring you a complete guide with 13 tips to keep your Thermomix in perfect condition and avoid unpleasant accidents.

1. Never drag it!
It's tempting, we know, but dragging or pulling your Thermomix across the kitchen can cause irreparable damage to its scale. The solution is simple: lift it carefully or use a wheeled board to move it smoothly.

2. Be careful with the butterfly attachment
The butterfly attachment is useful, but never use it at speed 4 or higher! The blades could break it or even crush it, causing damage to your Thermomix.

3. Say no to metal objects
To remove or scrape things inside your Thermomix's bowl, avoid using metal objects like spoons or forks. These can scratch the bowl and compromise its integrity.

4. Don't fill it to the top
It's tempting to want to make the most of the bowl's space, but don't fill it to the brim! The maximum measurements indicated in the bowl (TM5 and TM6) are there for a reason. If you exceed them, the food could spill out or not cook evenly.

5. Keep the connection pins dry
The connection pins of your Thermomix, located at the bottom of the bowl, should never be wet. Before using it, make sure they are completely dry after cleaning.

6. Keep your Thermomix away from heat
Be careful with heat! Placing your Thermomix near sources of intense heat can melt the machine's material, especially at the bottom. Keep it away from any heat source to prevent accidents.

7. Proper use of the TURBO button
The TURBO button should only be used for cold foods. Don't activate it with hot foods to avoid damaging your Thermomix.

8. Caution when opening after boiling or steaming
If you've boiled something or steamed it, be careful when opening the Thermomix. Keep away to avoid burns and never bring your face close to the container.

9. Use the transport lock
If you're going to transport your Thermomix, make sure to activate the transport lock located in the machine's software, accessible from the screen.

10. Proper size of foods
Don't insert foods larger than the Thermomix's bowl. If they're too big, cut them before inserting to avoid blockages and damage to the machine.

11. Avoid hitting the bowl with the spatula
Detaching food from the bowl by hitting it with the spatula can recalibrate the scale of your Thermomix. Avoid doing this to maintain its accuracy.

12. Don't insert the spatula through the lid with the butterfly attachment mounted
When the butterfly attachment is mounted, avoid inserting the spatula through the lid to prevent damage to both the tool and the machine.

13. Blend with caution
When blending hot foods, always do it progressively to avoid splashing and burns.

By following these tips, you'll keep your Thermomix in optimal condition and avoid unfortunate accidents. Cook with peace of mind and safety!
